Purely for fans' entertainment!

Hello! Here are Yaone, Ceres, and Rukawa no Miko interviewing the coaches of the teams Shoyo, Kainan, Shohoku, and Ryonan, for our Kanagawa Scoop! We’ll get them to share their opinions regarding the best players of Kanagawa.

First, we visited Kainan High to see Coach Takato Riki, the man known to create brilliant strategies and can quickly spot the weakness of his opponents. With his trusty fan, he smilingly allowed us to interview him next day.
Second, we scouted for Coach Taoka Moichi, from Ryonan. He was pretty excited about it (pretty pleased too), but when we mentioned we would invite 4 of them, he became a little peeved (He thought it’s a personal, private one for him).
Thirdly, we looked at Shoyo’s captain and coach, Fujima Kenji. He at first said he was busy with schoolwork and management of the team before he retires, so we had to “persuade” him a little. It’s up to SD fans to guess ^^
And lastly, we entered the Shohoku gym to see the former White-Haired Devil Coach Anzai Mitsuyoshi. Being the White-Haired Buddhist as he is now, he politely said yes. He’s so nice!

So now the four well-known coaches are gathered to talk about the players of Kanagawa Prefecture and compare their beliefs. Here goes!

Yaone: Who do you think is the best center?

Takato: I think it’s Akagi Takenori from Shohoku. Although I highly respect my center Takasago, I choose him because despite the fact he’s under pressure or injury, he refuses to give up and does his best to give them a good challenge.
Taoka: I believe it’s Hanagata Toru, because unlike the other two strongest centers—Uozumi and Akagi—who possess toughness and height, he also has the speed to get to his position.
Anzai: I think all the centers have their own special talents and abilities. Ohohohohoho!
Fujima: I also like to vote to Hanagata. He can do things centers cannot do, like fade-away shots. Who ever saw Akagi and Uozumi do that?

Ceres: Good point. So who do think is the best point guard?

Takato: Huh! (grins) My Maki, of course! Why, he’s the no. 1 player in Kanagawa.
Taoka: Hmph! I know Sendoh can beat him anytime.
Takato: Oh yeah? Well, he’s already beaten in the last elimination. And age or year doesn’t matter.
Fujima: Scoff if you will, but I know I can beat the others someday.
Anzai: Ohohohoho! I think it’s Sendoh, because he never loses his calm endeavor even when his team is in danger.
Taoka: (cackles maniacally) Ah, see! The most-feared and respected coach agrees with me! Hahahaha!
Takato: …

Rukawa no Miko: (sweatdrops)…Who is the top among the small forwards (with hearts in her eyes)?

Takato: Rukawa Kaede (RnM silently worships him), no doubt. He reversed the game to his side all by himself during our game before. I can’t forget that.
Taoka: When Sendoh was still a small forward, I would have chosen him. Since he’s changed positions, I’ll choose Rukawa. (Too bad he isn’t in my team…)
Anzai: Ohohohoho! Rukawa-kun, because he now learned the value of teamwork.
Fujima: Rukawa Kaede, also…

Ceres: Then who’s the best of all the shooting guards?

Takato: It’s Jin, of course! Mitsui may have the talent, but Jin’s practice and hard work made him stronger.
Taoka: Hmm…I don’t have any other choice but to choose Jin Soichiro also.
Takato: Nani, what are you trying to imply?!
Taoka: It means I don’t have any intention of siding with you!!
Fujima: Jin Soichiro of Kainan. His shooting skills are very sharp.
Anzai: (drinks his tea) Well, I think Mitsui-kun is the best, because he acts more than just a shooting guard. Jin is a very remarkable three-pointer, but he’s often silent. (He doesn’t do much other than shoot outside)

Rukawa no Miko: How about the number one of all power forwards?

All: SAKURAGI HANAMICHI!! (With paled scrunched-up faces)

Yaone: Wow! Then who’s the best rebounder?

Takato: Sakuragi Hanamichi…despite his amateur skills and stupidity.
Taoka: I still think my Uozumi is the best! (gives a proud pose)
Anzai: Ohohohoho! Sakuragi-kun possesses an extraordinary gift when it comes to that.
Fujima: Sakuragi Hanamichi is very good…better than anyone can expect of a beginner.

Ceres: Who is the greatest ace ever?

Takato: I root for Maki! He never settles for second and is always craving for victory!
Taoka: (sneers at him) Sendoh!
Anzai: Hmmm…Rukawa and Sendoh? I can’t decide. Ohohohoho!
Rukawa no Miko: Nani? Doushte!?
Fujima: I hate to admit it, but it’s Maki. But I’ll be sure to beat him!

Rukawa no Miko: Last but not the least, if you have a choice to form your dream team, which players would you include?

Takato: Maki, Jin, Sendoh, Rukawa, and Akagi.
Taoka: It’s like before. Uozumi, Mitsui, Miyagi, Sendoh, and Rukawa.
Anzai: Ohohohohoho! I’m happy with my team, no change required.
Fujima: Me too, I’m contented with Shoyo the way it is (sort of fuming since none of the coaches picked him)

Yaone: Thanks a lot for letting us take your time!
Ceres: We hope to see you soon!
Rukawa no Miko: Say, Fujima-san, can I have your autograph?

Fujima: Huh? (smiles) Oh, sure, why not?
Takato and Taoka: Hey, what about us? Don’t you think we’re popular???
