Genius 36: Frustration
District Finals - Ryoma is leading in the match against Shinji and the players are taking a short break. The Seigaku regulars are helping out Ryoma and Shinji tells Tachibana that he isn't going to lose to a 1st year. He tells him that Ryoma was lucky, making him a little frustrated during the game.
It's Shinji's service play and the Seigaku regulars start to notice Shinji's form as he serves. The ball hit the ground and shot up towards Ryoma's head, knocking off his hat (15-0). The 1st years were amazed that someone else besides Ryoma can use that serve and Inui tells them that it's Shinji's Kick Serve. Horio asks if it isn't the same as the Twist Serve and Inui tells him that Twist is the old way off calling it. Shinji tells Ryoma that he can sense him hiding something and Ryoma comfirms his hunch. Ryoma changes to his left hand and tells Shinji that it's time they got serious. The 1st years remember that Ryoma only used his right hand to play doubles so no one knew he was a lefty. Ryoma tells Shinji that he has to use his right hand for a right handed player and Shinji gets irritated by Ryoma's arrogance.
Shinji uses his Kick Serve again and Ryoma takes a step back, bends his knees, returns the serve. Shinji is already running after the ball, prepared for a backhand and returns the ball. Ryoma smiles and tells Shinji that he doesn't intend to lose before the nationals or at the nationals.
