Genius 25: Advancing to the Districts!!

District Preliminaries - The match between Seigaku's Momoshiro-Echizen pair and Gyokurin's Fukawa-Izumi pair has just ended (Seigaku-6, Gyokurin-2). The two doubles pairs congradulates one another for a fine game and Fukawa invites them to play doubles again anytime they want at the street tennis court. When Momo and Ryoma leave the court, Ryuzaki pinches their cheek with all her might and tells them that winning isn't everything and punishes them.

The next set ends quickly with Seigaku's Golden Pair winning without playing with their full potential (Seigaku-6, Gyokurin-0). Gyokurin has no chance to win now with doubles so they are counting on their singles to win. Kaidou cold stare strikes fear into Gyokurin's #3 singles player and Kaidou wins an easy match (Seigaku-6, Gyokurin-0). Taka arrives on the court and seems extremely nervous. Gyokurin's #2 singles player figures he'll have his revenge with such a timid player against him. Oishi tosses Taka his racket and Taka goes into his burning mode. Taka's burning power overwhelms Gyokurin's #2 singles and Seigaku earns another victory (Seigaku-6, Gyokurin-0). Fuji plays #1 singles this time an scores yet another victory for Seigaku (Seigaku-6, Gyokurin-0). Seigaku advances to the next round with 2 doubles victories and 3 singles victories.

Seigaku's next matches are against Mizunohuchi Middle School and the players are getting lunch. Ryoma leaves to go drink some Ponta. Meanwhile, on a different court Kakinoki defeats Suzuonyama and Kiichi Kuki says to their #1 singles player, "It's not that you're not weak, it's that we're too strong!!". Kuki leaves the court and walks towards Tezuka and Fuji who were watching their match. He insults Tezuka by saying that he probably didn't play against Gyokurin because he couldn't. Tezuka and Fuji start to leave and Kuki grabs a hold of Tezuka's left arm. Kuki is shocked that he got no response from Tezuka's arm when he grabbed it.

In the match between Seigaku and Mizunohuchi, Seigaku seems to have the upperhand with another victory (Seigaku-6, Mizunohuchi-0). Ryoma is down because he's a reserve player and Ryuzaki tells him that if he doesn't support them, she's gonna pinch his cheeks again. Seigaku wins 3 straight sets in a row and advances to the finals. On another court, the seeded school Kakinoki lost to an unseeded school, Fudomine. Kuki is on the ground cussing about how they can lose to an unseeded school. The Fudomine player lifts up his racket and is about to strike Kuki with it when he is stopped by his captain. Fudomine then leaves the court.

End of Volume 3.
